Bio

is a PhD candidate in the department's Cultural Anthropology program (Medical Anthropology track). Her research focuses on how Black Americans understand their own decision-making related to food, incorporating a place-based and health-informed perspective. As an undergraduate at George Mason University, she completed her first published research project, a podcast titled "." In 2021, she received the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition's Christine Wilson Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Award for this project. At SMU, she is the recipient of one of the university's competitive Mustang Fellowships.
